Week One

I saw a special on 60 Minutes last Sunday about Global Warming. The hour show presented many strong reasons to believe that the trend in world heating is caused, in part, by greenhouse gases/emissions. This show also showed how the White House has been censoring various scientists throughout the country, who have published data-driven reports about global warming and greenhouse gases. I'd personally like to know more about the accuracy of these reports and the validity of scientific reports that blame global warming on greenhouse gases. This show presented a positive case for the truthfulness of global warming.
I've also noticed quite a few more hummingbirds in my backyard recently. They fly so quickly sometimes I can't see their colors and traits. But if I sit next to a lemon tree we have, they usually hover long enough for me to see the colored band around their necks--some have purple bands, others green bands. The first kind is called a Ruby-Throated Hummingbird. It is very territorial, from what I can see. It also makes a high-pitched call as it flies from tree to tree. Very cool--sometimes, though, I feel like I bother them when I get too close!
